Pike County Schools STEM Academy students will participate in hands-on, project-based learning with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They will collaborate in groups and work together as a team to build confidence and skills needed to tackle real-life, challenging problems.  Students will develop problem solving skills and apply their knowledge of science, technology, and math as they engineer and produce solutions to design challenges that will increase in difficulty throughout the year.  Documentation and communication will be a key component for success in this class. The engineering design process will be utilized allowing students to be creative and innovative and to have FUN as they investigate various concepts! Students will be exposed to various fields of engineering and will  be given the opportunity to experience basic foundational engineering principles.
