Lunar Buggy/Rover
STEM students created a Lunar Buggy following specific criteria and constraints. A lander was also designed to aid a safe landing on the surface of Mars. Once the buggy landed, it was required to travel down a predetermined slope and travel at least 100 cm on the surface.

STEM students have become used to a variety of STEM challenges being assigned in class. The key word for building the mind is opportunity. These kids have been immersed in challenges that require them to use the steps of the engineering design process to search for solutions. These challenges are holiday themed!

Celebrating Dr. Seuss
In honor of Dr. Seuss's 112th birthday, STEM students read Scrambled Eggs Super and identified a bird in need! The Long Legger Kwong needed their help because her legs were so long that when she laid eggs from 20 feet in the air, they cracked every time! STEM students designed and created a soft lander to help her eggs travel safely to the ground!

Structural Engineering with K'NEX Education
STEM students use K'NEX Education to investigate structural engineering. Fifth and sixth grade students conducted bridge investigations focusing on the history, function, structural design, geometry, and strength of bridges. Seventh and eighth grade students had the opportunity to investigate characteristics and physics of amusement park rides. These STEM lessons are phenomenal! Highly engaging!!!
